Jinaki Abdullah

Ms. Abdullah is the founder of Khalifah Academy and has been an educator for over 22 years. As a retired educator she now focuses her time on developing programs for the youth of Morven and conducting private tutoring sessions. 

Debra Bilal

Debra Bilal is the eldest of six girls, the mother of four and grandmother of four. After learning to sew in junior high school, she became passionate about the craft. Her teacher noticed her enthusiasm for sewing and design and allowed her to organize a fashion show for assembly, which became part of the home economics curriculum. She has been awarded many honors for excellence in sewing which motivated her to become a professional seamstress. Subsequently, she made her own wedding dress and outfits for her children. She also earned an income for years sewing outfits for customers, including family, friends, and children

Javonda Clyburn

Javonda is a seamstress and loves arts and crafts. She volunteers with Khalifah Academy and will help teaching sewing classess. 

Kimberly Harper

Kimberly is new to sewing. She loves to quilt and enjoys working with youth. You can find her at the local fabric store trying to walk away from bolts of fabric and other sewing notions.

Nikki Martin-Prince

Nikki is a professional cake decorator, caterer, and former restaurant owner. She will teach our young scholars how to cook, and discuss with them entrepreneurship opportunities in the food industry.
